Top award for dedicated Milton Keynes worker
A Milton Keynes office worker has been honoured for her dedication and commitment to residents of a local care centre.
Daria Drygas, an employee of award winning neurological care provider PJ Care, has recently celebrated winning the company’s prestigious Employee of the Year Award.
PJ Care Chief Executive, Johann van Zyl said “Daria is a worthy winner of our highest accolade, she is proof that caring for our residents is top priority for every single member of PJ Care staff regardless of what position they hold in the company.”
PJ Care’s “Star Awards” are an annual event to celebrate and reward its elite members of staff. Employees are nominated by their peers and the winner is chosen from a panel of judges including prominent figures in the industry as well as residents and their families.
Daria started working with specialist neurological care provider PJ Care in 2006 as a Care Assistant in Bluebirds, the company’s first care facility.
Over the years Daria has embarked on an ambitious personal development plan and is now responsible for PJ Care’s procurement function.
Daria really impressed the judges with her “passion and enthusiasm for her job, PJ Care and its residents.
They commented “Daria’s rise through the company is a result of her hard work and determination.
She strives for excellence in everything she does and this is evidenced by her professional development, her drive to continue her CIPS studies even further and how she has applied her learning to the benefit of the company and ultimately to its residents.”
Daria added “I feel very honoured to have won this award, procurement isn’t all about purchasing and cost savings, in my mind, our residents always come first and if they need a particular item I will do everything to source it quickly whilst ensuring they get the most appropriate and best quality products with the minimum disruption.”
Daria, along with 150 top PJ Care employees and their guests, celebrated at a glitzy award ceremony on board the Dixie Queen, London’s largest party boat.
Johann van Zyl added “Our staff are the most important people in our company and we wanted to celebrate their commitment and hard work in a very special way.
We had a fabulous evening aboard the Dixie Queen and it was an honour to celebrate with so many of our dedicated employees.
I’d like to congratulate all our winners, they are all ‘stars’ and are vital to the continued success of the company and the wonderful care we provide our residents.”
